We are interested in your thoughts on the best way to present continuing education in 2009. SEMS currently offers monthly CME training, with mandatory sessions scattered through the calendar year. If all are attended, you accrue the needed thirty-six (36) hours annually.
Several sponsor hospitals and EMS agencies have eliminated monthly CME topics in favor of annual paramedic refreshers. We are looking into several options to meet the core and mandatory requirements:
With the above options, two offerings would be scheduled to accommodate both tours. Mandatory requirements (HazMat, Infectious Disease, EVOC) could be included in the scheduled training as well as BLS renewal, ACLS renewal, PALS renewal, and PEPP Provider certifications.
EMT-Basics and EMT-Intermediates will be provided with an abbreviated schedule of appropriate topics to attend.
With fewer dates scheduled well in advance, planning your calendar to meet the CME requirements should be easier. On the flip side, failing to attend a training session would result in missing more hours.
Please complete the survey below and select which CME program you would prefer. You must provide your name and e-mail address. Only one vote per employee. This a non-binding survey! The results will be strongly considered when structuring our future CME program.
