Mass Compression-Only CPR Training Event

August 25, 2012

8 am to 6 pm
Chelsea Piers Connecticut

TRAINER AND MANIKIN REGISTRATION

Why You Should Volunteer to be a Trainer?

We will need hundreds of trainers to successfully conduct the event!  You do not need to be a CPR instructor, just current training in CPR and have one or more of the following medical credentials: MD, PA, RN, PT, LPN, NP, DPM, DO, EMT, paramedic or military corpsman.  If you think we missed one that you have, let us know!

The most important qualification is a strong willingness to help out!  Not only will you play a major role in breaking a world record, you'll go home with a sense of tremendous pride, knowing you helped thousands of people become heart heroes.

Additional Information

First Shift Start Time Change!

The reporting time for the first shift has been pushed back to 7 am!  Media outlets will not be there as early as they first stated so enjoy the extra hour sleep!

Here are a few additional things you should know before you sign up to volunteer as a trainer:

  • Don't volunteer if you aren't sure you will be able to be there. No-shows cause great difficulties and will affect the flow of training.

  • Volunteers must be at least 16 years old.

  • The day is broken down into three four hour shifts.  Although the event does not officially start until 8 am, the first shift of trainers will report at 6 am to help with pre-event training for media outlets.

  • You must be able to report on time and train for your assigned shift.  There will be a volunteer break area for reenergize your batteries!

  • Dress comfortably.  Event t-shirts will be provided.  Wear comfortable shoes.

  • Leave all valuables (purses, backpacks etc) at home. We do not have the space or security to watch them during the event.

  • Plan to car pool if possible.  There will be dedicated volunteer parking but it is always better to come as a group to assure there will be space for everyone!

  • Check this website frequently and look for important e-mails from HFL.

  • Be prepared to HAVE FUN!!
