Our highest priority is to provide the best quality medical care and transportation services to our community. SEMS is responsible to both its community and its own workforce to maintain a high level of excellence and value. We continuously strive to maximize efficiency and effectiveness through constant improvement.

SEMS continually monitors changes in the healthcare environment, gives input into legislation that impacts emergency medical services, works to improve billing and collections in this changing arena and collaborates with other organizations to improve health care awareness.

Patient Satisfaction Surveys

SEMS prides itself on customer service as evidenced by its patient satisfaction program. Random selections of patients are mailed Patient Satisfaction Surveys. Each returned survey is reviewed and the information and comments are shared with the staff.

Clinical Care, Practice and Training

SEMS meets its responsibilities to the community through continual training and investment in state-of-the-art equipment and cutting edge therapies to ensure the highest standard of pre-hospital care possible.  Stamford EMS paramedics perform advanced procedures such as rapid sequence induction (RSI) of anesthesia for advanced airway management and continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy.

SEMS functions under the auspices of the Southwestern Connecticut Regional EMS Council guidelines and receives medical oversight and protocol guidance from The Stamford Hospital EMS Sponsor Hospital Program.

Special Operations

We prepare our staff not only for routine operations but also for the quickest response possible in the event of community disasters. The City of Stamford is home to a vibrant corporate, industrial, and cultural base.  SEMS is charged with planning, staging, and responding to a variety of potentially dangerous and challenging events.  Our clinical staff receive extensive training in the recognition of and response to hazardous situations.

All field staff are trained to the Operations Level. Managers are trained to the Technician level.
