SEMS maintains a high level of clinical excellence and continuously strives to maximize efficiency and effectiveness through our performance improvement initiatives. We continually monitor changes in the healthcare environment, give input into legislation that impacts emergency medical services, work to improve billing and collections in this ever-changing arena and collaborate with other organizations to improve healthcare awareness.
Providing Gold Standard Service
In 2017, for the eleventh consecutive year, Stamford Emergency Medical Service earned accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services (CAAS).
Only 1% of EMS systems in the country is granted CAAS accreditation, which means that SEMS has met the “gold standard” determined by the ambulance industry.

Patient Satisfaction Surveys
We pride ourselves on customer service as evidenced by the patient satisfaction program. Random selections of patients are mailed quality surveys. Each returned survey is reviewed and the information and comments are shared with the staff.

Clinical Care, Practice and Training
SEMS paramedics perform invasive and non-invasive procedures including protocol-driven administration of medications, placement of advanced airway devices, cardiac monitoring, defibrillation, and transcutaneous pacing.
SEMS functions under the auspices of the Stamford Hospital EMS Sponsor Hospital Program.
